Our last post brought us to a point in this journey where we agreed to do it GOD’S WAY. This week, our guest has written to us, encouraging us to live our lives for God. This is what he has to say.

The time is now for our generation to say,

“HERE I am… I have COME to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.” (Hebrews 10:7, NIV and BSV)

To “Live For God!” is not a word of encouragement and motivation to a generation but a spiritual call to come into awareness and wakefulness.

With so much burning desire to provide sufficient light for a sleeping individual in a generation, I bid you to this passage of the scripture (above) which emphasized three keywords “I have COME”, “HERE I am”, and “I”.

To “come” in Hebrew is kəm meaning, to “enter” or to “happen” while “here (כאן)” in Hebrew means “now”. And the word “I” is used as the subject of a verb to refer to a person.

As a young (wo)man in this generation, for you to fully live as it is written of you in the volume of the book is for you to “come (enter)” into the new birth through Jesus Christ and begin to “happen now” in the Holy Ghost, in playing out your predefined purpose on earth. This exactly is the truest way to live, but for God.

True living begins in God because it is where your real essence germinates from, not from success, relationships, and breakthroughs.

What you live for is your real essence. In other words, “Purpose” is the real essence of your living, which can only be found in the Source of all things; God.

All-encompassing, as living for God is the spring (the essence) of your life, it, therefore, calls to thought, “How do I live for God?” Gladly, knowing the how lies in the ability to complete these circles; your quest for, your discovery of, and your access to your purpose, the purposes of your pre-structured assignment; your life goal; the goal with the longest lifespan.

This is so because the nature of your purpose requires your complete lifetime to achieve.

“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them TO BECOME LIKE HIS SON so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” (Rom. 8:29, NLT)

Yes! TO BECOME! This is the destiny of our purpose. But to become is not possible until the light of understanding dawns on us to know what to do, per time and season, to become. (Eph. 1:18).

At this juncture is where the reality of our vulnerability is exposed, as we cannot “Live For God” by the dissipation of our human energy or zeal, but by “Walking with God”, to understand His precepts, will, and ways for the fulfillment of our purpose.

  1. High Measure of Consecration
Because God’s ways are not known from without, living for God places a demand on not just the sanctification of your spirit but also the rendering of your thoughts, emotions, and will, for where you would continually draw from is the rivers of life within you. Don’t allow your thoughts and emotions to shut His creative workings on your inside. Consecrate your spirit, soul, and body to Him. God just wants all of you!
  2. Large Appetite: As God so desires that you live for Him, He also desires that you will not always be quickly satisfied by your little progress in Him, but that you always will stay with Him for more, until you are full of Him, to leave incredible marks upon the soil of your territory in your lifetime. So, trade your small spiritual bowel for a large appetite, wanting more of God.
  3. Time: Undeniably, TIME is the most required substance to trade within exchange for your choice to walk with God, as you would receive the advantage to have experiential knowledge of Him, which will give you spiritual stability and initiate you into dimensions of encounters that every man must have if they must enter into the fullness of all that has been written of them (Hebrews 10:7).

If fulfilling purpose calls for living for God, which requires walking with Him, if walking with Him requires time, how important, then, do you think it is to start early with God?

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them.” (Eccl. 12:1)

God will always present an equal chance to humanity. Whether you are ready or not, when your time comes, God will manifest you that way.”, Pastor Femi Lazarus (Lead Pastor, Sphere of Light Church).

What a true revelatory statement! As a young generation, nothing is more delightful than to start early, to start on time with God. It is demonic to watch time and the content that comes with it until it passes (you) by.

Seasons come with different purposes and opportunities; This is a season that has come with a powerful cloud in our generation; This cloud will not be there forever. While many are already taking advantage of it, do not despise it.

Let us go deep now! Our lives are not coordinated by our annual age count but by the accumulated times and seasons and their contents that we consciously trapped into our lives, which judges the shape our future will take.

After all, two things will define us all;

  • Some men will be an example to their generation.
  • Some men will be a lesson to their generation.

Destiny calls. Go deep now!
